Catching up

 I have been very lazy when it comes to this blog, but very busy in every other area of my life (eighty one days til I get married!!).

First, a quick round-up of what your friendly neighborhood Neighborhood Council has been up to:

Among many other things:

- This week, the AVNC voted to endorse the Cyclists Bill of Rights, which simply restates, clearly, the inherent rights that cyclists should already have.

- We voted to supplement the funding for Inside Out Community Arts and Kidding Around the Kitchen. Both of these programs help our Atwater kids in very unique ways, and I'm proud of the council for supporting them.

- We are getting closer to a relaunch of the website! Huzzah!

- We helped the Friends of Atwater Village clean up our Atwater Village murals, including the Vince's Market mural, the train car park mural, and the Fletcher Dr. mural. They've been cleaned, re-painted, and graffiti coated.

- As always, we continue to support our Farmers' Market and the Director of Animal Welfare Services.

In other news, Newbie reports that Asia Restaurant on Los Feliz, which had undergone a "small plate" makeover, much to the chagrin of AV sushi lovers, has been rehabbed once again. The sushi is back!
